Automation Technician – Calgary Division

We are currently accepting applications for Lead Automation Technicians in Calgary, Alberta. If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact and are motivated to provide excellent service to our customers, we need to hear from you!

Reporting directly to the Service Manager, as a Lead Automation Technician for Care Systems, you will be responsible for the design, drawings and databases for each project assigned to you by the Project and/or Service Manager. This position will have opportunity for advancement as our operations in Alberta grow.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Success of overall hardware and software design of CSSL projects, as well as the implementation of our procedures and standards in the installation, commissioning, and documentation of controls projects.
  • Understand project scope of work, project specific sequence of operations and ensure projects are delivered on time, on scope and on budget.
  • Continuously fine-tune sequence of operation to ensure systems are operating most efficiently while providing a comfortable environment.
  • Continuously identify areas needing improvement and implement changes to increase effectiveness and productivity.
  • Coordinate project specific details with outside contractors, vendors, and customers.
  • Correspond with Project Manager and provide status reports on projects.
  • Solve Customer issues in support of our CPA service contracts.
  • Act as the technical gatekeeper for internal and external ALC questions.
  • Review General and Critical Alarms Daily to ensure appropriate actions are taken
  • Participate in the rotation for on-call alarm monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our existing customer base to provide outstanding, personalized service.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Mechanical & electrical aptitude
  • Experience with HVAC/Mechanical Automation Systems
  • Extensive overall computer experience
  • A technical diploma in Engineering Technology or Equivalent experience considered an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience with CAD programs or drafting experience an asset
  • Ability to work Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with occasional overtime.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
