Project Manager - Okanagan Division

Care Systems Services Ltd. is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our Construction team in beautiful Vernon, British Columbia. Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, this role provides cradle-to-grave project execution and plays a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

The successful candidate will be well organized, collaborative, and able to initiate, monitor, and deliver project plans with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and accuracy are essential in this fast-paced construction environment.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

In this role, you will provide direct support to the Construction Manager and be accountable for the successful execution of assigned projects, including:

  • Directing, coordinating, implementing, and completing projects in alignment with CSSL’s strategy, commitments, and goals
  • Meeting with contractors and owners to manage project scope, budgets, performance, and close-outs
  • Coordinating and scheduling projects with customers, field technicians, suppliers, and internal team members
  • Identifying all operational aspects of projects, including labour, equipment, materials, consumables, and subcontractor requirements
  • Maintaining project timelines and ensuring timely completion of tasks
  • Tracking project expenses and maintaining accurate project budgets
  • Maintaining quality standards by supervising project-assigned staff and inspecting job sites
  • Working with Business Development (Sales) and Estimating to transition projects from sales to operations
  • Handling client complaints or discrepancies and providing appropriate resolution
  • Assisting management with training, hiring, performance reviews, and terminations as required
  • Enforcing safety regulations, work performance standards, rules, and working conditions
  • Reviewing and approving timesheets accurately and in a timely manner
  • Managing changes to project scope through a defined change management process
  • Identifying potential cost-saving opportunities and project risks
  • Promoting an “on-time, on-scope, on-budget” project delivery environment
  • Managing purchasing activities, including general inventory, materials, and purchase order generation
  • Providing monthly reporting and attending site meetings as required
  • Supporting the Construction Manager with day-to-day activities as directed

Skills, Experience & Attributes

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, building automation (BAS), fire alarm, or construction environments considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of construction terminology and workflows
  • Ability to adhere to schedules, prioritize workload, and take a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills, with a strong focus on customer service
  • Solid working knowledge of the project lifecycle from estimate through close-out
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
  • Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word

HVAC Service Technician (2nd Year Apprentice to Journeyperson)

Care Systems is expanding in the Okanagan and is seeking a motivated HVAC Service Technician (2nd Year Apprentice to Journeyperson) to support our Vernon-based service and project work. This opportunity is open to registered 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-Year Apprentices as well as Red Seal Journeypersons.

Our work focuses on commercial and light industrial environments, with an emphasis on HVAC systems, building automation, and energy-efficient solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Service, maintain, and install commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and basic control-related issues (scope based on experience level)
  • Install and maintain HVAC components including ducting, piping, and refrigeration lines
  • Complete work orders, service documentation, and reports clearly and accurately
  • Work directly with customers and internal teams in a professional manner
  • Adhere to all site-specific safety requirements and company OHS policies
  • Maintain company tools, vehicles, and job sites in a safe and organized condition
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and occasional overtime (as applicable to role/level)
  • Travel out of town periodically, as required by project or service needs

Who We’re Looking For Journeyperson Candidates

  • Red Seal Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic certification
  • Proven experience servicing and troubleshooting commercial HVAC systems
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration, electrical systems, and controls
  • Gasfitter (A or B) and/or FSR certification considered an asset

Apprentice Candidates (2nd–4th Year)

  • Registered Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic Apprentice
  • Willingness to learn and grow within a commercial HVAC environment
  • Ability to work independently as skills progress, with support from senior technicians
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in diagnostics, service work, and customer interaction

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s licence and dependable transportation
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Criminal record check may be required
  • Physical & Work Environment
  • Lift and handle equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working on rooftops, ladders, and in confined spaces
  • Physically active role requiring standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing
  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor work environments in varying conditions

Care Systems is a well-established HVAC and Building Controls contractor seeking a 3rd-year or higher Apprentice Electrician, or a Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician, to join our growing Kamloops team. We deliver commercial and light industrial projects specializing in HVAC controls, building automation, and energy management systems.

What you’ll do:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and light industrial environments
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Perform conduit installation (bending, threading, and running)
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and control systems
  • Follow all safety protocols and electrical codes
  • Work collaboratively with our experienced team on a variety of projects

What we’re looking for:

  • Registered Apprentice (3rd–4th year) with SkilledTradesBC or Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician
  • Conduit installation experience is required for apprentices
  • Valid BC Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and safety focus
  • Experience with building automation or HVAC systems is an asset
