What You’ll Be Responsible For

In this role, you will provide direct support to the Construction Manager and be accountable for the successful execution of assigned projects, including:

• Directing, coordinating, implementing, and completing projects in alignment with CSSL’s strategy, commitments, and goals
• Meeting with contractors and owners to manage project scope, budgets, performance, and close-outs
• Coordinating and scheduling projects with customers, field technicians, suppliers, and internal team members
• Identifying all operational aspects of projects, including labour, equipment, materials, consumables, and subcontractor requirements
• Maintaining project timelines and ensuring timely completion of tasks
• Tracking project expenses and maintaining accurate project budgets
• Maintaining quality standards by supervising project-assigned staff and inspecting job sites
• Working with Business Development (Sales) and Estimating to transition projects from sales to operations
• Handling client complaints or discrepancies and providing appropriate resolution
• Assisting management with training, hiring, performance reviews, and terminations as required
• Enforcing safety regulations, work performance standards, rules, and working conditions
• Reviewing and approving timesheets accurately and in a timely manner
• Managing changes to project scope through a defined change management process
• Identifying potential cost-saving opportunities and project risks
• Promoting an “on-time, on-scope, on-budget” project delivery environment
• Managing purchasing activities, including general inventory, materials, and purchase order generation
• Providing monthly reporting and attending site meetings as required
• Supporting the Construction Manager with day-to-day activities as directed

Skills, Experience & Attributes

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the construction industry
• Experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, building automation (BAS), fire alarm, or construction environments considered an asset
• Strong understanding of construction terminology and workflows
• Ability to adhere to schedules, prioritize workload, and take a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills, with a strong focus on customer service
• Solid working knowledge of the project lifecycle from estimate through close-out
• High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
• Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word

Journeyperson HVAC Service Technician

We are seeking an experienced Journeyperson HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team in the Okanagan Region (i.e. Vernon, Kelowna, Salmon Arm, Kamloops). In this role, you will be the face of Care Systems, diagnosing, servicing, and maintaining a wide variety of commercial HVAC systems. You will work closely with our Building Automation team to ensure client facilities run at peak operational and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose & Repair: Identify, troubleshoot, and diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues on commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. The scope and complexity of diagnostic responsibilities will increase based on your individual trade experience.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform detailed preventative maintenance inspections, routine servicing, and system adjustments to ensure optimal equipment longevity and minimize client downtime.
• Installations & Retrofits: Execute professional installation and equipment retrofits of commercial HVAC units, refrigeration systems, and/or related system piping.
• System Collaboration: Work alongside our DDC/Building Automation technicians to optimize automated HVAC controls (experience with systems like WebCTRL is a significant asset).
• Team Communication: Communicate effectively, proactively, and professionally with dispatchers, supervisors, and fellow team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Client Relations: Live out the C.A.R.E. acronym by communicating clearly with property managers and building owners, providing transparent explanations and long-term solutions.
• Documentation & Reporting: Accurately complete and submit digital service reports, work orders, safety logs, and time-tracking documentation on time.

What You Bring

• Certification: Valid Journeyperson Red Seal certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanics.
• Additional Certification(s): Advanced trade credentials, such as a Gasfitter (Class A/B) or an Electrical/Gas FSR designation, are highly desirable.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience servicing complex commercial mechanical systems.
• Skills: Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with digital controls and building management systems is highly desirable.
• Safety First: A clean commercial driving record and a rock-solid commitment to safety protocols and procedures.

HVAC Service Apprentice(s)

We are seeking a 2nd to 4th Year HVAC Service Apprentice to join our growing team in the Okanagan Region (i.e. Vernon, Kelowna, Salmon Arm, Kamloops). Key Responsibilities

• Experience: Previous experience working on commercial or light commercial mechanical systems, with a strong mechanical aptitude.

Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician

Join our Kamloops team!

We are currently seeking a Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician to join our growing Kamloops team. Must have a minimum 5 years of post-journeyperson experience, with preference given to applicants with Master Electrician status or proven supervisory experience leading crews and managing field operations.

What you’ll do:

• Install, maintain, and repair control systems in commercial and light industrial environments
• Provide hands-on leadership to field crews and oversee daily project operations from start to finish
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Mentor and guide apprentices through conduit installation and wire pulling, ensuring work meets code while personally handling complex runs
• Troubleshoot and diagnose control systems
• Follow all safety protocols and electrical codes
• Work collaboratively with our experienced team on a variety of projects

What we’re looking for:

• Must possess a valid Interprovincial Red Seal Electrical qualification; holding a valid Technical Safety BC Field Safety Representative (FSR) Class A or B certification is highly desirable
• Valid BC Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
• Strong communication, teamwork, and safety focus
• Experience with building automation or HVAC systems is an asset
• Requires a minimum of 25% travel to local and out-of-town job sites
