Apprentice HVAC Technicians (1st Year or Higher)
Join our Okanagan team!
Care Systems, a reputable HVAC and Building Controls contractor, is seeking a 1st Year or higher Apprentice HVAC Technician to join our growing Vernon division. We specialize in commercial and light industrial projects, including HVAC controls, building automation, and energy management systems.
The Apprentice HVAC Technician will assist experienced HVAC technicians with the installation, repair, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This position reports to the Service Manager and provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while progressing toward becoming a fully licensed HVAC Service Technician.
We’re looking for a motivated individual with mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with HVAC systems
- Support the installation of ductwork, piping, and electrical components
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment on job sites
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Attend training sessions to further knowledge and technical skills

Requirements
- Registration in a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Apprenticeship
- Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable transportation
- Availability Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Occasional overtime and Oncall rotation may be required)
- Willingness to work out of town when necessary
- Commitment to following all Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Must be willing to undergo a criminal record check if required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights (ladders, scaffolding, rooftops)
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift
- Exposure to varying temperatures and outdoor conditions
- Use of hand and power tools requiring fine motor skills
- Physical stamina for repetitive and physically demanding tasks

Care Systems, a reputable HVAC and Building Controls contractor, is seeking a 2nd Year or higher Apprentice Electrician or a Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician to join our growing Kamloops division. We specialize in commercial and light industrial projects, including HVAC controls, building automation, and energy management systems.
What you’ll do:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and light industrial environments
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Perform conduit installation (bending, threading, and running)
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and control systems
- Follow all safety protocols and electrical codes
- Work collaboratively with our experienced team on a variety of projects
What we’re looking for:
- Registered Apprentice (2nd–4th year) with SkilledTradesBC or Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician
- Conduit installation experience is required for apprentices
- Valid BC Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
- Strong communication, teamwork, and safety focus
- Experience with building automation or HVAC systems is an asset
Required Certifications:
- Aerial Work Platform Training
- Fall Arrest Training Certificate
- Lockout-Tagout Training
- Respirator Fit Test Certificate
- WHMIS (to be completed once onboarded)
