Are you passionate about HVAC and ready to start your career in construction? Are you passionate about HVAC and eager to start your career in the construction industry? We are seeking a motivated and hardworking HVAC Apprentice (Level 1 or higher) to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on various construction sites under the direct supervision of our Refrigeration Construction Supervisor.
Care Systems, a leading HVAC and DDC contractor serving BC and Alberta, is hiring for our Okanagan division. With 30+ years of experience and a strong reputation, we specialize in commercial and light industrial projects, offering exciting growth opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Registered as an HVAC Apprentice with SkilledTradesBC
- Working towards or completed Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Apprenticeship
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to work Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional overtime
- Willing to work out of town and on multiple construction sites
- Willingness to work in various environments and weather conditions
- Committed to safety and occupational health regulations
- Must be able to pass a criminal record check if required
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist experienced HVAC technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
- Support in troubleshooting and diagnosing HVAC issues
- Help install piping, electrical components, and other system parts
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks
- Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Learn to read blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Participate in training sessions to develop technical skills and industry knowledge
Ideal Candidate Skills & Attributes:
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Curious, analytical, and independent mindset
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work safely in confined spaces, at heights, and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working in demanding environments
- Comfortable working with hand and power tools

Position Requirements:
Certification: Red Seal Journeyman Electrician Certificate
Journeyman Electrician Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a Journeyman Electrician and 5 years in the construction industry (preferred). Experience with building management systems (BMS) and building controls is an asset.
Skills: Mastery of electrical systems installation, maintenance, and repair, as well as project management and safety protocols. Excellent communication, problem-solving & analytical skills, exceptional time-management, and a collaborative spirit
Qualities: Motivated team player with a desire to grow and advance within our organization
Driving: Valid Driver’s License & Driver's Abstract (required - employee is responsible for any fees associated with this request)
Flexibility: A willingness to work out of town
