Are you a motivated 1st or 2nd-year apprentice looking to advance your skills in a supportive, professional environment? We are seeking dedicated Apprentice HVAC Techniciana to join our service team. In this role, you will work directly under the guidance of our experienced senior technicians and the Service Manager to develop the specialized skills needed to become a fully licensed professional.
The Opportunity
As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This is a comprehensive training ground where you will learn to troubleshoot complex issues, conduct system tests, and perform essential routine maintenance.
What You Will Do
- Technical Support: Assist in the installation and repair of HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and electrical components.
- Diagnostic Learning: Work alongside mentors to troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions.
- Site Safety: Strictly follow all safety protocols and Occupational Health and Safety regulations while using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Professionalism: Maintain accurate work records, manage materials, and communicate effectively with our customers and team members.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure work areas remain clean and organized while attending scheduled training sessions to advance your skills.
What You Will Learn
- Through our mentorship program and SkilledTradesBC requirements, you will master:
- Interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Installing, overhauling, and repairing refrigeration and ventilation components.
- Measuring, cutting, and connecting critical piping.
- Preparing professional work estimates, orders, and inspection sheets.
Your Qualifications
- Apprenticeship Level: Currently registered as a 1st or 2nd-year apprentice in a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic program.
- Licensing: A valid Driver’s Licence and a willingness to undergo a criminal record check if required.
- Aptitude: A strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a logical, persistent approach to problem-solving.
- Availability: Ability to work Monday to Friday with flexibility for occasional overtime, out-of-town assignments, and participation in a on-call rotation for evenings and weekends may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift/carry tools up to 50 lbs and stand for up to 8 hours.
- Comfort working at heights (ladders/scaffolding), in confined spaces, and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Stamina for bending, kneeling, and crawling during intensive installations.
Apprenticeship Path (SkilledTradesBC)
- Technical Training: 33 weeks over a 4-year period.
- Work-Based Training: 6,210 total hours.

Care Systems is a well-established HVAC and Building Controls contractor seeking a Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician, to join our growing Kamloops team. We deliver commercial and light industrial projects specializing in HVAC controls, building automation, and energy management systems.
What you’ll do:
- Install, maintain, and repair control systems in commercial and light industrial environments
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Perform conduit installation
- Troubleshoot and diagnose control systems
- Follow all safety protocols and electrical codes
- Work collaboratively with our experienced team on a variety of projects
What we’re looking for:
- Certified Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician
- Valid BC Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
- Strong communication, teamwork, and safety focus
- Experience with building automation or HVAC systems is an asset
Relevant Certifications
